Hamas Official Hails Iran’s Unchanging Stance on Palestinian Issue

Deputy Head of Hamas’ Political Bureau Saleh al-Arouri praised Iran’s “stable” position on the Palestinian issue that is based on not recognizing the Zionist regime of israel.

“Iran’s stance on the Palestinian issue is stable and well-known,” Arouri was quoted by the Arabic-language al-Manar TV as saying on Thursday.

The position of the Islamic Republic is based on the non-recognition of the Zionist regime of Israel, he said, adding that it is the reason why some problems are created for Iran in the world.

“Iran is ready to help the Palestinian resistance, and on this basis, our relationship with Iran has been formed,” the Hamas official noted.

Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei has on various occasions described the issue of Palestine as the paramount political subject in the Muslim world, slamming the US, Israel, and reactionary regimes for seeking to foment division and wars within the Muslim community.

Earlier this month, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in a telephone conversation with Chairman of Hamas Political Bureau Ismail Haniyeh.
