Palestinian resistance groups called Saturday for the need to adopt a unified national standpoint so as to protect the people and the land from Israel’s racist and illegal settlement schemes.

The calls were launched during a meeting between Hamas representative in Lebanon, Ali Baraka, and representatives of the Palestinian coalition in Lebanon, headed by Secretary-General Mohamed Yassine.

A statement issued at the end of the meeting condemned Israel’s underway attempts to ban Adhan (Muslim call to prayers) in the mosques of Occupied Jerusalem, budding the ban a racist move and a renewed aggression on the Palestinians.

The conveners stressed the need to preserve calm and stability in Palestinian refugee camps and to deter any attempt to drag refugees into internal and external hostilities.

The resistance leaders urged the new Lebanese government lineup to work on restoring Palestinians’ right to return to their homeland and granting refugees’ human rights in Lebanon.

They also highlighted their commitment to boost the Lebanese-Palestinian bonds and tp preserve Lebanon’s integrity.

At the same time, Hamas delegate Ali Baraka received representatives of the charity commission in Ein al-Hiwleh, refugee camp headed by Sheikh Youssef Theibash.

The meeting was attended by member of Hamas political bureau Mashhour Abdul Haleem and political relations chief Ziad Hassan.

The delegation briefed Baraka on the latest development in Ein al-Hilweh shelter and the security mayhem recently rocking al-Zeib neighborhood, where Moussa Abdul Razaq lost his sight after he was seriously wounded in the head. The latter is being treated at Labib Medical Center in the southern Lebanese city of Sidon.

Baraka further spoke out against the recourse to armed force in local conflicts and called for prosecuting the aggressors.

He reiterated Hamas’ commitment to uphold security in the camp and neutralize it against all conflicts.

He urged all Palestinian factions and civil institutions to foster the Lebanon-Palestine ties and uphold peace in Ein al-Hilweh camp, a “stopover” in Palestinians’ Journey towards the path of return.
