Hamas: Palestinian soil no bargaining chip

Hamas will never forfeit a single inch of Palestinian land, the group’s political bureau member, Mahmoud al-Zahhar, said on Monday.

“No attempt to force us to give up a single inch of our motherland, which has been occupied by the Zionists since 1948, shall come true, no matter the costs,” said al-Zahhar.

“Palestine is not anybody’s or any government’s property. It belongs to all Muslims and we are its faithful guardians,” the Hamas leader added.

On December 6, the U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital, in a move believed to be seeking to alter the status quo across the occupied Palestinian territories. The recognition sparked universal condemnation and protests.
