Hamas refuses Egyptian Mufti’s visit to Jerusalem

Deputy political bureau chairman of Hamas Dr. Mousa Abu Mazouk has described the visit of Egyptian Mufti Ali Juma’a to Jerusalem while under occupation as recognition of occupation.

He said on his Facebook page on Thursday that the visit means normalization of relations with occupation and a certificate of good conduct to occupation.

Abu Marzouk asked the Egyptian religious scholars to reject the visit since it constituted a practical edict for visiting the holy city while under occupation.

The Hamas leader said that regrettably the Mufti’s visit to occupied Jerusalem and the Aqsa mosque gave the mistaken impression that Israel was allowing freedom of worship.
