Hamas Says Israel will Suffer Consequences of Airstrike

The Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas has warned Israel of consequences of its airstrike on south of the Gaza Strip that martyred at least three Palestinians.

In a statement, Hamas identified the martyrs as members of its Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades. The Brigades described the airstrike as a “serious escalation” and warned that Israel “will bear all the consequences,” AFP reported on Saturday.

An Israeli airstrike early on Saturday targeted a car travelling on a road internationally known as Route 4 between the towns of Khan Younis and Deir Bala.

One Palestinian was also wounded, according to medical staff and witnesses.

The Israeli army has taken responsibility for the raid, saying it was jointly planned with the regime’s domestic intelligence agency, Shin Bet.

On Wednesday, Israeli fighter jets fired several rockets at two Palestinians as they were riding a motorcycle on the road from Khan Younis to Rafah, killing one person and injuring another.
