Hamas slams Israeli film on Aqsa, urges Arab producers to retaliate

images_News_2013_01_31_film-1_300_0The Hamas Movement’s Jerusalem affairs department said that Jerusalem is exposed to frenzied Judaization attempts to obliterate its Islamic holy sites and monuments.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Jerusalem affairs department stated that the latest of these attempts was Israel’s production of a film propagating the idea of razing the Aqsa Mosque and building the alleged Jewish temple in its place.

Hamas described this film as part of the ongoing Zionist plots aimed at distorting the historical facts in the holy city.

Hamas appealed the pro-Palestinian media to expose such Israeli plots and clarify the picture to the whole world.

It also urged the Palestinian and Arab film production companies to necessarily focus on making movies on Jerusalem and showing the suffering of its people under occupation.

The Israeli foreign ministry launched recently a short movie propagating the Jewish plan to destroy the Aqsa Mosque and build the alleged temple in its place.

In this regard, head of the higher Islamic authority in occupied Jerusalem Sheikh Ikrima Sabri said that this Israeli movie represents only part of the Israeli malicious schemes and intents against the Aqsa Mosque.

Sheikh Sabri, the preacher of the Aqsa Mosque, told Quds Press on Wednesday that this movie confirms unquestionably that that the Aqsa Mosque is not only exposed to threats from the extremist Jewish groups, but also from the Israeli official institution.

Sabri warned that the Zionist right-wing’s victory in the recent parliamentary elections would have serious negative impacts on the Aqsa Mosque and might lead to the creation of a fait accompli.

He also questioned the credibility of the UNESCO and said he does not trust this organization at all because of its biased in favor of the Israeli regime and its reluctance to protect the Palestinian heritage and the Islamic historical holy sites in the occupied territories.

The Sheikh also expressed his despair at making appeals to the Islamic and Arab countries to defend Jerusalem and urged them instead to keep up their slumber and inaction.
