Hamas warns of Israeli medical negligence policy in prisons

Hamas official Abdel-Rahman Shadid warned of a severe deterioration of the situation of a number of sick prisoners inside Israeli jails, noting that it requires a serious official and popular stand to protect them from the oppression of occupation.

Shadid, in a press statement, stressed that the occupation deliberately restricting the conditions of the prisoners and depriving them of their most basic rights of living guaranteed by all international norms and laws.

The official referred to two current hunger strike cases in Israeli jails; where the prisoner Sami Janazrah continues his hunger strike for 22 days and the prisoner Imad Al Batran for nearly a month.

“Large number of male and female prisoners suffer diseases and extremely difficult health conditions in light of the Israeli deliberate neglect policy,” Shadid said. He added that 20 prisoners in solitary confinement such as Musa Sofan, who suffers from cancer, and Hamas leader official Shukri Al Khawaja.
