Political bureau member of Hamas Ezzet al-Resheq has warned that the storming of the Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli minister of agriculture at the head of a horde of settlers under military protection was meant to endorse the plot of dividing the holy site.

Resheq stated on his Facebook account on Sunday that the storming of the Aqsa Mosque was a war crime, pointing to the fire that broke out inside the Qibli mosque due to the Israeli soldiers’ savage raid.

He described the incident as a serious escalation in the “enemy’s crimes against the Aqsa and sanctities”.

The Hamas leader said that the Israeli occupation forces’ raid that culminated in expelling the guards and worshipers and banning entry of learners had crossed all red lines.

He vowed that the Israeli terrorism would not deter the Palestinians from defending their holy site.

Resheq regretted the absence of strong official positions on the part of the Palestinian Authority and the Arab and Islamic countries in face of such a serious crime.
