Head of Hizbullah Juristic Council Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek Denounces US Blatant Interference in Lebanon’s Bank Sector

Head of Hizbullah Juristic Council His Eminence Sheikh Mohammad Yazbek believed that “those who believe that Lebanon is far from the storm [blunder] then they are delusional, because Lebanon and the rest of the region are in the eye of the storm […] and therefore we cannot [hide from the truth].”

Furthermore, Sheikh Yazbek denounced the “US interference in the Lebanese affairs, through its ambassador to Lebanon [Maura Connelly], who orders around and asks where Ministers are going, as if they have to take her permission.”
He also denounced the US interference in the Lebanese bank sector, and denigrated the request for surveys and reports on how the banks function, describing these requests as an “act of colonialism.”
Moreover, Head of Hizbullah Juristic Council criticized how some Lebanese politicians are dealing with the said situation, stating that they have no zeal in their country, and “they only look at their country from their own personal interests, and even if it were the interests of the US or others.”

Commenting on Under Secretary of State for Middle Eastern Affairs Jeffrey Feltman’s statement a few days ago, in which he called for forming a new “majority” in Lebanon’s 2013 elections, out of alleged concern on Lebanon, Sheikh Yazbek wondered, “Why doesn’t Feltman, his president, administration, and the [UN] Security Council help return the Shibaa farms and Kfarshouba heights to their people? They are Lebanese territories.”

Regarding the Syrian ifile, Sheikh Yazbek iterated that those who call for a political solution in Syria, in fact do not seek a political solution, yet “they want Syria to collapse, a civil war to erupt, and their claims of supporting democracy in Syria are away from the truth.”
