Another massive wave of Hezbollah and Iraqi reinforcements have arrived inside the town of Al-Hadher in order to begin the third phase of their large-scale offensive in the Aleppo Governorate’s southern countryside.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 4th Mechanized Division and their allies from Hezbollah, Harakat Al-Nujaba, and the National Defense Forces (NDF) completed the second phase of their southern Aleppo offensive after they captured the strategic town of Khan Touman and the village of Al-Khalidiyah; this resulted in the obstruction of the Islamist rebels main supply line from the Idlib Governorate to the provincial capital of the Aleppo Governorate. However, these reinforcements are not just anybody; these fighters come from the elite Lebanese resistance organization known as “Hezbollah” and one of the largest Iraqi paramilitary groups “Liwaa Al-Badr” (Al-Badr Brigades).

For Liwaa Al-Badr, the battle in southern Aleppo marks the first time that they have actively participated in the Syrian Conflict. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has become a seasoned veteran in this war, launching several large-scale offensives in the last three years, while becoming one of the most successful forces on the ground in Syria.

The main objective for these reinforcements will be the capture of the Aleppo-Idlib axis that has been under the control of the Islamist rebels force well over two and a half years.
