Hojjatol Islam Akhtari: Purpose of Assembly is Solidarity and Unity

The Secretary General of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly stressed the importance of unity among Muslims.

Making remarks in the in the ceremony of renewing allegiance with Imam Khomeini, the Secretary General of the Ahlul Bayt World Assembly Hojjatol Islam Akhtari stressed the importance of unity among Muslims noting, “the purpose of organizing the 6th General Assembly is promoting Solidarity and Unity among Muslims,” reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

The relgious cleric bekconed to the telling role of Khomeini (RA) in safegaurding solidarity among Muslims and said, “The Imam Khomeini (RA) was the reviver of the Ahlul Bayt (AS) school of thought in the modern world.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, he also made an explanation about organizing of the 6th General Assembly and stressed, “Imam Sajjad Conference will be held at the first day of the General Assembly. This conference has five specialized commissions. Also the General Assembly has 5 geographical and 6 thematic commissions.”

“By organizing this Assembly we hope that we can reach our final goal, the solidarity and unity of Muslims,” he added.

The four-day 6th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt World Assembly opened in Tehran in the presence of representatives from 130 countries and some political and cultural figures. The meeting is aimed at reinforcing solidarity and convergence to promote goals of Islam.

Prominent clerics are to give their speech and come up with roadmaps for braving the problems Muslims are wrestling with. The event also gives a golden chance to Muslim thinkers exchange their views and takes with each other.
