Pakistani media report Supreme Leader remarks

Pakistani newspapers on Saturday exclusively reported remarks of The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei opposing any foreign intervention in Syria.
‘Express Tribune’ quoted The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei as saying that Iran strongly opposes any foreign intervention in Syria’s conflict and will defend Damascus so it can continue “resistance” against Israel.

The newspaper termed Assad as a rare ally of Iran in regional affairs.

Another leading news daily ‘Dawn’ website quoted Supreme Leader as saying, “Iran will defend Syria because it supports its policy of resistance against the Zionist regime (Israel), and is strongly opposed to any interference by foreign forces in Syria’s internal affairs.”

The report said that The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, voiced support for reforms announced by Assad and opposed “any plan created by Americans for the Syrian issue”.
