Imam Khamenei: Disclosed Scandals of US Presidential Race Prove Moral Decline in US Society

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei rejected on Wednesday the remarks about negotiations and compromise with Washington, and said the “liar, disloyal and cheater” US is itself a crisis-hit country.

“Negotiations with the US will not resolve our problems, because firstly, they are liar, disloyal, cheater and stab in the back. Secondly, the US, itself, is crisis-stricken, and how can a crisis-hit country resolve another country’s problems?” Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei stated.

Addressing a large gathering of Iranian school students and teachers on the occasion of National Students Day in Tehran, the Supreme Leader stressed that international assessment centers and even the Americans, themselves, have admitted the political, economic, international and moral crises in the US.

“Washington, whose debts have approached its GDP, cannot settle the problems in Iran and it is merely after looting Iran’s wealth and resources to rescue itself from the crisis,” his eminence said.

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei added that facts and scandals that are being disclosed by both US presidential candidates show how declined the human rights values are in the American Society today, in addition to discrimination and racism.

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei also referred to the US political and international problems, and said, “Today, in any part of the world when a nation stands up against a tyrant government, its first slogan is ‘Death to the US’. Is there any crisis worse than this? Now the Americans are in a situation that they have become desperate about the developments in Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen and North Africa. Isn’t this situation a crisis?”

The Supreme Leader pointed to the moral crisis in the US which was blatantly revealed by the US presidential candidates recently, and said, “This is enough to destroy the US reputation.”

Stressing that talks with the US only add to Iran’s problems, Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei said, “We should resolve the problems ourselves and with reliance on our capabilities and the young forces inside the country,” adding that negotiation with such an untrustworthy state as the US is “harmful”.

“The Americans are insisting that we hold talks with them on the West Asian issues, specially Syria, Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen. What is their real objective behind these demands for talks? They have no goal but preventing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s presence in the region as the main cause of the US failures,” Supreme Leader said in another meeting with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) commanders and officials in Tehran.

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei of the tricks and clear enmity shown by the Americans towards Iran during the nuclear talks, and said, “Wisdom requires that we mistrust completely those who have clearly displayed their animosity.”

Leader of the Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei rejected claims that nuclear talks helped defuse threats against Iran, stressing that the enemies have given up threats against Iran because of its “defensive and military power” and their fear of the outcome of any belligerent act against the Islamic Republic.

Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution also addressed certain regional states, and said, “If you don’t keep vigilant and don’t understand the tricks of the US hegemonic system and become fooled by their smile, you will possibly come to experience a 50 or 100-year backwardness.”
