Insulting Qur’an sign of desperation

A representative of Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Khamenei says desecration of the holy Qur’an by ‘American mercenaries’ is a sign of their desperation and abjection.

“Figures suggest that Islam is fast spreading in the United States, Europe and other countries across the globe,” Ali Ghazi Askar was quoted by Fars news agency as saying.

“The incident which recently happened in the United States touched the hearts of libertarians and the faithful, and caused grief among world Muslims,” said Askar who is also the superintendent of Iranian pilgrims.

He further pointed out that the sacrilegious move was pre-planned by the enemies.

“Desecration of the holy Qur’an is out of fear and disappointment,” he underlined.

Issues such as ‘Islamophobia’ promulgated by ‘Zionist’ media is yet another reason indicating the enemies of Islam are concerned over the promotion of this divine faith, the Leader’s representative highlighted.

“At this juncture when Islam is taking hold across the world, the enemies are seeking to trigger sedition and launch crusade-like wars. The United States, too, is trying to cover up its domestic problems with such desperate acts,” he further explained.

Askar also underlined that insulting the holy Qur’an will not go unanswered as Muslims will stand up for their religion, dignity and honor.

Florida pastor Terry Jones floated the idea of torching the holy Qur’an on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

Although the pastor called off his plans, other anti-Islam elements in the US attempted to burn copies of the holy book on Saturday.

Two evangelical preachers in Tennessee also set copies of the Qur’an on fire and members of the group Operation Rescue tore pages from the holy book of Islam.

In another incident, a group of individuals tore some pages of a copy of the Qur’an in front of the White House.

The move brought condemnations from the Muslim world and the international community.
