Intellectuals and Academics: President al-Assad Presented Comprehensive Reform Program

Several intellectuals and academics on Tuesday considered that President Bashar al-Assad’s reform program paves the way for a political, economic and social work in Syria, which responds to people’s aspirations.

Deputy Rector of Damascus University Tareq al-Khayyer said that President al-Assad presented a comprehensive program and future visions for all society spectrums, particularly the youth who we own high awareness.

Adnan Ibrahim Ahmad a professor at Education Faculty said that the speech gave hope to the Syrian people for reform along with maintaining security.

He added that the speech answered people’s inquiries and questions abour reforms as it set a timetable for achieving them during five months, which enables people of different backgrounds to participate in the national dialogue in order to reach an prosperous state.

For his part, Dr. Ali Mohammad stressed that President al-Assad expressed the heartbeat and aspirations of the Syrian people.

Teaching staff member at Education Faculty Hadi Khayal said President al-Assad’s speech is comprehensive and suitable for the current stage, pointing out that the speech met the aspirations of people and touched upon the citizens’ burdens.

Dean of Medicine Faculty Dr. Anthon Laham said President al-Assad’s speech tackled all the events and issues in Syria and diagnosed the problems Syria is suffering from.

He added that the speech is comprehensive from the political, legal, security and social perspectives.
