Infighting among rival terrorists has significantly increased in Idlib province since the liberation of Aleppo city by the Syrian Army, local sources said, adding a commander of Fatah al-Sham Front (previously known as the al-Nusra Front) was also killed in a bomb attack as a result of widening gaps in terrorist front.

The sources said that after the army capture of Eastern Aleppo, infighting between Fatah al-Sham and other terrorist groups have been on the rise in the recent weeks.

Fatah al-Sham is about to establish an Islamic State in Idlib city, a move strongly rejected by other terrorist groups, pushing the city and its countryside into intensified scene of clashes and terror attacks.

Fatah al-Sham seized 25 members of other terrorist groups in the town of Khan al-Sabal in Southern Idlib, turning the town into a battlefield on Saturday.

In the meantime, a number of militants and some of the members of Islamic Battalions, inducing Ajnad al-Qoqaz (soldiers of Caucasus) Battalion were kidnapped by unknown assailants in the Southern and Northern countryside of Idlib.

Informed sources also said that Commander of the Military Vehicles of Fatah al-Sham in Idlib countryside known as Abu Yusuf al-Ansari was killed in explosion of his vehicle by a bomb.

Local sources said last week continuous air and bomb attacks against the commanders of Ahrar al-Sham, Faylaq al-Sham and Fatah al-Sham Front terrorist groups and insecurity in Idlib pushed militants in the province into deep fear, accusing each other of treason.

“Unidentified people that had planted a large volume of explosive materials in one of the vehicles of Fatah al-Sham detonated it in the town of Khan al-Sabal in Southeastern Idlib, killing Abu Amyar al-Khorsani, a commander of Fatah al-Sham, and his assistant,” the sources said.

They added that a bomb-laden vehicle of Ahrar al-Sham was also detonated in the town of al-Tah in Idlib countryside, injuring a group member.

The sources went on to say that Faylaq al-Sham’s bases in the town of Kaftin in Idlib countryside were also raided by masked assailants who stole weapons and took the guards into captivity.

“Panic has spread among Fatah al-Sham members after the recent incidents. They are accusing each other of treason and mounting spying devices in their commanders’ vehicles,” the sources pointed out.
