‘Internalizing unity, main objecitve of Iran top unity body’: Sunni cleric

Member of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought, Molavi Eshaq Madani in an exclusive interview with Taqrib News Agency (TNA) underscored, “Internalizing rapprochement, unity and solidarity among Muslims is the main objectiveset for the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought.”

Making his remark on the occasion of the anniversary of the World Forum establishment, the seasoned cleric beckoned to some of activities and programs forwarded by Iran top unity body for stressing as well on achievements and inroads made the center.

The World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought tries to provide a ground for forming a united Islamic Ummah and promoting solidarity among Islamic nations, bringing Proximity and Unity among Muslims, whatever group they belong to.”

“Mounting Islamic Unity conferences and meetings with prominent Sunni and Shia clerics in attendance, releasing books, Journals, and magazines centered on rapprochement linked issues, and conducting various studies for promoting unity and boosting rapprochement among Muslims nations are of activities advanced by the World Forum,” highlighted the Members of the Supreme Council of the World Forum for Proximity of the Islamic Schools of Thought.

Molavi Eshaq Madani also beckoned to the plots hatched by enemies of Islam in a bid to widen  the gap among Muslim nations and Islamic sects stressing, “enemies cost to boost dispersion among Muslims; given that, the duty upon the World forum is much more serious and harder.”

It is worthwhile to note that The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought (WFPIST) was established in 1989 following a recommendation by the Supreme Leader  of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei.

The WFPIST was commissioned to promote unity among the followers of the entire Islamic schools of thought, and has been holding the International Islamic Unity Conferences every year ever since then, during the Unity Week which marks the auspicious birth anniversary of the Prophet of Islam, based on the Shiite and the Sunni schools of thought.

The World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought’s activities is mostly directed to education, clarification and explanation of the Proximity Thoughts to Muslims.
