Int’l confab on woman in Islamic world opens in Tehran

The 6th international confab called “the role of woman in the Islamic world over the past century” started on Wednesday at Iran’s national museum, attended by Iranian and foreign intellectuals and experts.

According to IRNA, the 2-day confab is being attended by thinkers from Algeria, Austria, Germany, Iraq and Lebanon, as well as Iranian professors and experts in different fields such as history, politics, society and art.
The confab will study women issues, their abilities, opportunities and the obstacles in their path, as well as the role of women in Muslim countries over the past century.
The confab aims to focus on women studies in Islamic countries, new strategies in Islamic and women’s fields, position of women in Islamic societies in the past and in the contemporary era. It will provide an opportunity for researchers of women issues to meet and confer.
