IR Iran will not quit supporting Palestinians: 1st Vice President

First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said that the Islamic Republic of Iran is supporter of the Palestinian nation and it will do its best to support the oppressed people of Palestine.

Vice President Rahimi made the remarks in a meeting with the visiting democratically-elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on Friday.

He pointed out that the Iranian nation will not withdraw an iota from its supportive stances vis-à-vis defending the rights of the Palestinian nation.

‘One of the ideals that has been left from late Imam Khomeini and the Iranian nation has been committed to its after the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution is defending the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation,’ Rahimi added.

He noted defending the oppressed people, especially the Palestinian nation and animosity towards the criminal Zionist regime are important factors seriously taken into account by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

‘The issue of Palestine is a redline for us and the standpoint of the Iranian nation has been clearly mentioned in this regard,’ Rahimi added.

He noted that one of the reasons for staging an eight-year war against Iran by the enemies and many plots and sanctions by the enemies against Iran was because of Iran’s hostility with the Zionist regime and believing in Palestine’s ideals.

‘The manner in which the Iranian nation looked at Gaza issue was similar to that of eight years of Iraq’s imposed war against Iran,’ Rahimi added.

Referring to the Islamic awakening and overthrowing of several regimes in the Middle East and Northern Africa, the vice president stated that the Zionist regime will soon see the negative consequences of its aggressions and plots.

The democratically-elected Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh for his part thanked the brave standpoint of the Islamic Republic of Iran towards Palestine and felicitated The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei and the Iranian nation on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the victory of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

‘If we see the Islamic awakening now in the Middle East region, the Iranian nation has seen Islamic spring for the past 33 years,’ he added.

Haniyeh pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran was besides the Palestinian nation since the victory of 1979 Islamic Revolution.
