Iranˈs foreign policy has roots in self-esteem:FM

Iranˈs Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Tuesday that the government of President Hassan Rouhani is loyal to the lofty aspirations of the late Imam Khomeini.

According to IRNA, explaining the spirit of the Iranian foreign policy on the eve of departure of the late Imam Khomeini, Zarif said that if he wanted to describe foreign policy of new Iranian government in a single sentence, he would say it reflects self-esteem coming from genuine discourse of Islamic Revolution and late Imam Khomeini.
Comparing the foreign policy of the western governments with that of the government of President Hassan Rouhani, Zarif said extremism is caused by fear, while moderation is an outcome of self-esteem.
The coward people resort to extremism, Zarif said, adding that extremism represents worry about possible incidents.
