Tehran announced on Tuesday that experts from Iran and the six world powers discussed details of their proposals during the recent talks in Istanbul, Turkey.

In a statement, Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) said the Iranian and G5+1 (Britain, China, France, Russia, and the United States plus Germany) experts have discussed various aspects of proposals put forward by both sides.

According to the statement, the discussions revolved around proposals presented by Iran during the meeting in Moscow in June 2012, and offers given by the G5+1 during negotiations held in the Kazakh city of Almaty on February 26-27.

The statement added that results achieved in the two-day meeting will be presented at the upcoming round of talks in Almaty on April 5-6, press tv reported.

Experts from Iran and the Group 5+1 wrapped up their three rounds of talks in Istanbul on Monday evening.

According to diplomat sources in Turkey, the meetings were held behind closed doors upon request of the two sides’ officials.

The Istanbul talks prepared the grounds for continuation of negotiations between the two sides.

Iran and the G5+1 agreed to hold the expert-level meeting in Istanbul during their previous negotiations in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on February 26-27. The two sides agreed to convene again in the city on April 5-6 to continue talks.
