Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan to hold joint meeting

Trilateral meeting of foreign ministers of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan will be held on Jan 16 in Islamabad, Pakistani Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday.

IRI Foreign Minister and his Afghan counterpart will visit Pakistan next week to take part in the meeting.

During their stay in Islamabad, they will meet and confer with their Pakistani counterpart as well as the country’s President Asef Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.

Ensuring Afghanistan’s security, uprooting terrorism from the region and withdrawal of NATO forces from the country will be discussed during the meeting.
