Iran Army, IRGC will crush threats in unison: Commander

The Iranian Army says it is fully cooperating with the Islamic Republic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) to deliver a crushing response to any potential threat against the country.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the Iranian Army said it is at the peak of its readiness thanks to its indigenous capabilities.

The statement said the unison between the Army and the IRGC has sustained and safeguarded the achievements of the Islamic Revolution and thwarted the sanctions and an array of complex threats against the Islamic Republic.

The daily progress of the IRGC in various scientific sectors has brought about the self-reliance and self-sufficiency of the Islamic Republic, particularly in the defense industries, the Army’s statement further read.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

The country has repeatedly made clear that its military might is merely based on the state’s defense doctrine of deterrence, and that it poses no threat to other countries.

Washington and Tel Aviv have, however, time and again threatened Tehran with a military strike under the pretext that the country may be pursuing military objectives in its nuclear energy program.

Iran rejects the allegation, arguing that as a signatory to the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and a member of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), it has the right to develop and acquire nuclear technology for peaceful purposes.
