Iran condemns deadly bombings in Syria

Iran has condemned the bomb attacks that left nearly 40 people dead and scores of others injured near the Syrian capital Damascus on Wednesday.

According to IRIB, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast stated later in the day the terrorist attacks carried out under the pretext of pursuing people’s demands are not justifiable by any means.
Mehmanparast strongly criticized the countries that are fueling the unrest in Syria by supporting insurgents, and held them responsible for the rising wave of terrorism in the country.
The Iranian official also called for an end to violence in Syria through national dialogue.
He said arming anti-government insurgents is a purposely move aimed at increasing long-term instability and insecurity in the region in line with Israeli interests.
The Syrian government has repeatedly said that foreign-backed “terrorists” are responsible for the unrest in the country, and that certain Arab and Western states are fueling the turmoil.
