The Islamic Republic of Iran has strongly condemned the latest Israeli airstrikes on the besieged Gaza, reported Press TV.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said on Tuesday that “this move is due to fear from the emergence of the third intifada of the oppressed Palestinians throughout the occupied territories, especially the Islamic resistance in the West Bank.”

Afkham also stated that Iran considers the Israeli regime fully responsible for the consequences of Zionists’ terrorism rise in the region, and calls on all international institutions to condemn Israeli slaughter and stop Israelis from perpetrating crimes against the oppressed and besieged Gazans.

On Tuesday two Palestinians were killed and several others were wounded in the Israeli airstrike, including a three-year-old girl.

Gaza has been blockaded since June 2007, a situation that has caused a decline in the standards of living, unprecedented levels of unemployment, and unrelenting poverty.

The 1.7 million Palestinians of the Gaza Strip are living in what is called the world’s largest open-air prison as Israel retains full control of the airspace, territorial waters, and border crossings of the territory.

The apartheid regime of Israel denies about 1.7 million people in Gaza their basic rights, such as freedom of movement, jobs that pay proper wages, and adequate healthcare and education.
