Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman expressed regret over the spread of terrorist attacks against civilians in various countries, including Kenya.

Marziyeh Afkham expressed deep sorrow over the incident and denounced the terrorist attacks by the extremists in the African country and called for their persecution.

She also expressed hope that Kenyans would unite against terrorism far from any religious or sectarian division.

Earlier this week, At least 36 people were killed in an attack on a stone quarry in Mandera, Northern Kenya.

Gunmen opened fire at the quarry in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The dead were reportedly miners who were working in the quarry, located just outside the town.

According to the latest reports, the Red Cross was on the scene and that the military and army were heading to the site, which is just 5km from the border with Somalia.

The scene of the latest attack is about 30km from the November 22 raid on a bus in which 28 travellers were executed.

Al-Shabab Takfiri group claimed responsibility for the bus attack, but as yet no claim has been made for the killings in Mandera.
