Iran Condemns Western States’ Support for Terrorists in Syria

The headquarters made the condemnation in a statement issued on the occasion of the Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Day on Monday.

“Today the West and its allies are speaking about human rights, while they are supplying the Syrian terrorists with financial and weaponry aids,” the statement said.

Last year, Iran’s Human Rights Headquarters in a letter to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, called on the UN Human Rights Council to launch a probe in the western states’ support for terrorist in Syria and their role in spreading violence in the Muslim country.

“It is much clear that certain western countries along with their regional allies intend to change the Syrian government at any price and they don’t pay any heed to the bloody and inhumane consequences of this seditious measure whose painful manifestations are already evident,” the letter said.

“We demand your Excellency to compile a report on the role of such countries in equipping and arming the terrorists in Syria, which has had a direct effect in increasing the number of human rights violation cases in the country and committing of crimes against humanity, and inform the world of its results,” the letter added.

It noted that the West has always tried to export and impose its liberal-secular values under the cover of human rights on other countries.
