Iran Condoles with Ethiopia over Death of PM

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a message to Ethiopian officials extended his condolences to the country’s people and government over the death of Prime Minister Meles Zanawi.

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in a message condoled with the President of the Democratic Federal Republic of Ethiopia Girma Wolde Giorgis on the sad occasion.

The Iranian president expressed sympathy with Ethiopia’s President Wolde Giorgis, also condoled with the Ethiopian nation and government.

He also prayed to Almighty Allah for the salvation of the soul of the bygone Ethiopian PM and the showering of His blessings on his soul, as well a great patient for the bereaved family members of that esteemed personality and prosperity and well beings of the Ethiopian nation and government.

Tehran has prioritized promotion of its economic and political ties with the African states and the country is now considered as one of the African Union’s strategic partners.

Iran is also an observing member of the AU and has shown an active presence in previous AU summit meetings.
