Iran’s Home-Made Fighter Jets, Helicopters Fly over Army Day Parades Zone

The annual parades marking the Army Day were staged in Tehran and other cities on Thursday morning.

Various units of the Islamic Republic Army participated in the nationwide parades.

In Tehran, the ceremony took place at the mausoleum of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the Late Imam Khomeini, South of the capital with participation of President Hassan Rouhani, Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri and other high-ranking military and government officials as well as foreign diplomats, military attaches and reporters.

Different units of Iran’s Army forces marched in uniform before top commanders in a show of military might and defensive power.

Home-made Kosar fighter jet as well as Tomcat F14, F4, Tiger F5 and Mig 29 warplanes marched before the participants today.

Also, a Kosar fighter staged airshow over the parades zone by executing a 360 degree roll.

Commander of the Iranian Air Force Brigadier General Aziz Nasirzadeh boasted the capabilities of both Kosar fighter jet and the pilot in staging a sophisticated airshow during the Thursday parades.

“The airshow by Kosar both manifested our high power in training skilled pilots with high maneuvering power and the unique power of our industrial engineers in manufacturing fighter jets,” he told reporters on the sidelines of the parades.

Nasirzadeh also underscored the Iranian Armed Forces’ high preparedness, saying, “Given the enemy’s knowledge of our military power, I do not think that anyone dares to adventure and show stupidity against us but if this happens, we will respond in the strongest way.”

He expressed the hope that more Kosar fighter jets will be flown in the future parades.

Meantime, tens of helicopters belonging to the Army’s Airborne Unit, including Bell-205, Bell-206, Bell-214, Chinook and Cobra, flew over and marched in the parades zone.

Other latest military and defense achievements made by Iranian experts were also put on display at the parades, including the Army’s BMP2 personnel-carriers, equipped with home-made Dehlaviyeh missile-launchers.

Also reports said from Southern and Northern waters of Iran that the Navy’s warships, frigates and destroyers have paraded in the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman on the occasion of the Army Day.

The Iranian Armed Forces have recently test-fired different types of newly-developed missiles and torpedoes and tested a large number of home-made weapons, tools and equipment, including submarines, military ships, artillery, choppers, aircrafts, UAVs and air defense and electronic systems, during massive military drills.

Defense analysts and military observers say that Iran’s wargames and its advancements in weapons production have proved as a deterrent factor.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in essential military hardware and defense systems.

The country has repeatedly made it clear that its military might is merely based on the state’s defense doctrine of deterrence and that it poses no threat to other countries.
