Iran Defense Ministry to unveil 12 cyber products

339845_Iran-cyber-defenseThe Iranian Defense Ministry will be unveiling a dozen domestically designed and built products to be used in the cyber space tomorrow.

The twelve cyber products, all developed and manufactured by Iranian experts, will be put on display on Saturday in a ceremony that will be attended by Iranian Defense Minister Brigadier General Hossein Dehqan and Head of Iran’s Passive Defense Organization Brigadier General Gholam-Reza Jalali.

On November 27, the Iranian Navy unveiled its newest domestically manufactured phased array radar system, dubbed the Asr (Era), in a ceremony in Tehran attended by military top brass, including Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari and Deputy Army Commander Brigadier General Abdolrahim Mousavi.

“The radar system could be mounted on [naval] vessels, and will boost the combat capability of the Navy,” Mousavi said.

The home-made radar system is able to detect targets with a surface area of around four squares at distances as far as 110 miles, and can also spot cruise missiles, the commander added.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and gained self-sufficiency in the production of essential military hardware and defense systems.

Tehran has repeatedly assured other nations that its military might poses no threat to other countries, saying that the Islamic Republic’s defense doctrine is entirely based on deterrence.
