Iran Denounces Saudi Strike on Yemen Wedding: Aggressors Revenging for Their Defeats

Iran denounced on Monday Saudi-led strikes on a wedding party in Saada Province in Yemen.

Condemning the attacks, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bahram Qassemi “sympathized with victims of the violent and inhumane attack,” IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.
Qassemi said that Saudi warplanes were taking revenge for their defeats in battleground in Yemen by escalating air attacks against Yemeni civilians.

“During the war against Yemeni people, it has been clear that whenever the aggressors are defeated on the battlefields, they take revenge by increasing air strikes on innocent Yemeni women and children,” the Iranian agency quoted the spokesman as saying.

Earlier on Tuesday, Saudi-led warplanes bombarded a wedding party in Al Dhaher District, killing at least 11 people.

Yemen has been since March 2015 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led Coalition, in a bid to restore control to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi who is Riyadh’s ally.

Tens of thousands of people have been killed and injured in the strikes launched by the coalition, with the vast majority of them are civilians.

The coalition, which includes in addition to Saudi Arabia and UAE: Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Sudan and Kuwait, has been also imposing a harsh blockade against Yemenis.
