Iran: Enemies wish regional countries ill

30196aef28419599f825fc0ff5869527_LIran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has warned that the enemies seek to disintegrate regional countries through fueling religious disagreements in order to dominate the region.

According to Press TV, Ahmadinejad said at a press conference in Cairo on Thursday: “The enemies are determined to dominate the regional nations, therefore we should stand united.”
The Iranian president is currently on a visit to Egypt to attend the 12th summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). He was welcomed by Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi upon arriving in Cairo on Tuesday.
Ahmadinejad added: “Enemies have plans for Iraq, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and even Iran and want to weaken and disintegrate countries through fueling ethnic and religious prejudices.”
The Iranian president said insecurity in a country would undoubtedly threaten the security of its neighboring countries.
Stressing the fact that Iran does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries, Ahmadinejad said, “We believe that freedom, justice, and respect are the rights of all nations.”
Commenting on bilateral ties between Iran and Egypt, Ahmadinejad expressed hope that his trip to the African country would be the beginning of convergence between Tehran and Cairo.
The Iranian president said expanding ties between the two countries is not only in favor of the both nations, but also benefits other countries.

Ahmadinejad added that Iran seeks to expand diplomatic ties with Egypt and exchange ambassadors with the African country.
Ahmadinejad stated that Iran has no restrictions in cooperating with Egypt in technological fields and said, “Best people that can use Iran’s experiences are our brothers in Egypt.”
Iran severed ties with Egypt after Cairo signed the 1978 Camp David Accords with Israel and offered asylum to Iran’s deposed monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi.
Morsi visited Iran for the 16th NAM summit in August 2012, which was the first trip by an Egyptian president to Tehran since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Elsewhere, in answer to a question about possibility of negotiation between Iran and the US, Ahmadinejad said, “Talks must be based on understanding.”
The Iranian president said Tehran rejected US proposal for talks over Iran’s nuclear energy program because of Washington’s attitude being from the position of pressure and imposition.
