Iran envoy hails decision to deliver S-300 missile defense system

The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Envoy to Russia, Mahdi Sanai, has termed the delivery of the S-300 missile defense system to Iran an appropriate opportunity to broaden and foster Tehran-Moscow mutual cooperation.

According to IRIB World Service, the Iranian ambassador to Russia said in Moscow on Tuesday that Russia’s decision to deliver S-300 missile defense system to Iran paves the way for emergence of major opportunities in the two countries’ relations.

In the year 2010, Moscow, which was pressed by the West, forbade the delivery of S-330 systems to Iran. However, the Russian President, Vladimir Putin, lifted the ban on delivery of S-300 missile defense system to Iran on April.
