Iran firm to pursue path of progress

Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar has praised great achievements of the Iranian youth in different fields, stressing the Islamic Republic will strongly continue its path of progress.

“It is currently impossible to make any decision about countries in the region, including Afghanistan, Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, without the presence of the Islamic Republic,” IRNA quoted Mohammad-Najjar as saying in the Iranian northern city of Rasht on Sunday.

“Iran is presently the top power in the region and has things to say in all fields,” he further explained.

The Iranian minister also noted that Iran enjoys a special position in the region with regard to its great achievements made in various sectors, including industries and mines, science and technology, aerospace and nanotechnology.

Mohammad-Najjar emphasized that the enemy is fearful of the growing progress made by the Islamic Republic as it abjectly assassinates Iranian nuclear scientists and physicists.

On November 29, 2010, unidentified terrorists detonated bombs attached to the vehicles of Iranian university professors Majid Shahriari and Fereydoun Abbasi. Professor Shahriari was killed immediately, but Dr. Abbasi and his wife sustained minor injuries.

Meanwhile, Professor Massoud Ali-Mohammadi, a lecturer at the University of Tehran, was killed by an explosive-laden motorbike in the Iranian capital in January 2010. The bombing took place near the professor’s home in the Qeytariyeh neighborhood in northern Tehran.
