Iran hands over 55 tons of aid to Pakistani officials in Karachi

Iran’s Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar on Thursday handed over 55 tons of aid to Pakistani officials in Karachi.

Last month, Pakistan has been pounded by heavy monsoon rains which have caused massive floods in the province of Sindh. The floods have brought about massive damage to all infrastructures of the country.

Iran has announced the aid of 100 million dollars for the rehabilitation of flood stricken people.

Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar talking to media after holding a meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that Iran will not leave Pakistan in difficult times.

He said that Iran and Pakistan are tied in strong bond of friendship. He expressed sorrow over the destruction caused by floods.

He said that Iran had also helped Pakistan to overcome its flood crisis last year. He termed as second phase the recent Iranian help to Pakistan.

Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar handed over 55 tons of aid to Pakistani officials. The aid includes blankets, medicines and other food items.

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah expressing his views thanked Iran for sending aid to Pakistani flood victims. He added that Iran is like a brother to Pakistan.

He said Iran has always helped Pakistan in difficult times and proved itself a true friend of Pakistan.

He said ‘We are proud of our friendship with Iran.’

IG Sindh, Provincial law Minister, Provincial Minister for Jails, Director General National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) also attended the meeting.

Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar also attended a high level meeting at Iranian Consulate in Karachi to examine the situation arisen after floods in Pakistan.
