Iran has received oral message to attend Geneva meeting

Deputy Foreign Minister in Arab and African Affairs said Iran has received oral invitation to attend international Geneva meeting, but added that a written invitation has not received yet.

According to IRNA, on the sidelines of Syria International Conference in Tehran, Hossein Amir-Abdullahian said that after receiving the written invitation, Iran will make a decision about it.
He added that in diplomatic talks Iran has declared that concerning concentration of Geneva meeting on political solution for the crisis, we consider every invitation with a positive view.
Answering another question about Iran’s stance in case of fall of Bashar al-Assad in Syria, the senior diplomat underlined that Iran does not let the Syrian regime collapse adding that Tehran strongly supports Syrian people, government and those who believe in political settlement.
Concerning talks with his French counterpart in Tehran on Syria, Amir-Abdullahian said we had very good and positive talks.
He said “I can say that 80 percent of our viewpoints on political solution in Syria were in common with France.”
