Iran holds 1st Strategic Navy confab

The two-day conference is held in line with a recent emphasis by Leader of the Islamic Ummah And Oppressed People Imam  Seyyed Ali Khamenei on the strategic significance of Iran’s Navy.

The first Strategic Navy Conference has kicked off in the Iranian capital of Tehran at the presence of the country’s Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari.

Providing the necessary means to enhance Iran’s capabilities in making use of the sea for stable development is another aim of the conference that began on Monday .

Top officials from Iran’s Armed Forces, Ministry of Defense, and Chiefs of Staff are among those participating in the Strategic Navy Conference.

In recent years, Iran has made great achievements in the defense sector and attained self-sufficiency in essential military equipment and systems.

Iran’s Navy has successfully test-fired a range of powerful missiles mounted with laser technology, which display high precision and have a range of 45 kilometers (28 miles) to 300 kilometers (186 miles).

In February, two Iranian Navy ships, Khark and Alvand, passed through the Suez Canal, a strategic international shipping route in Egypt, for the first time since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran in 1979.

Iran has repeatedly assured other nations, especially its neighbors, that its military might poses no threat to other countries, insisting that its defense doctrine is based on deterrence.
