‘Iran interested in regional approach for settling problems’


Visiting Iran’s First Vice-President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said in Bishkek on Wednesday that the Islamic Republic of Iran has always pursued regional approach for settling problems in the region.

According to IRNA, Rahimi made the remarks in the 11th meeting of Prime Ministers of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states currently underway in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
He stressed that the SCO member states are trying to combat global threats such as drugs trafficking and terrorism.
He said the SCO is gradually turning to an authentic and influential institution in the region and across the globe.
Rahimi also described the SCO endeavor to enter the regional and global affairs and developments as vital.
The first VP arrived in Bishkek on Tuesday morning to attend the 11th SCO meeting.
Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mehdi Ghazanfari is accompanying the VP in his two-day visit.
