Iran introduced a new initiative to solve the Syrian crisis based on “Geneva 2 “agreement

Wide viewing diplomatic sources in Cairo have reported that “Tehran has introduced a new initiative to solve the Syrian crisis based on “Geneva 2 “agreement which is considered as a development of “Geneva” agreement that has been developed by the working group on Syria in June last year”.

The sources has indicated as quoted by Anatole Turkish news agency that the vice of the Iranian minister, Hussein Amir Abd al-Lahian has showed the initiative on the UN and Arab envoy in Syria al-Akhdar al-Ebrahimi during their meeting on Saturday last night which lasted nearly two hours, explaining that no press statements have come out of the two officials following the meeting.

The sources have pointed out that the Iranian side is seeking through its initiative to urge the Arabic and International parties to convince all the concerned bodies of Syrian crisis to participate in the negotiation, in addition of the participation of representatives of the Syrian regime and opposition, the initiative includes representatives of western countries, particularly the United States and Russia, as well as the participation of the state owners of most prominent initiatives in this regard, such as Turkey, Egypt and Iran.
