Golpayegani said the two sides negotiated on boosting cooperation, specially in the engineering and technical services related to oil and gas wells, and sharing capabilities.

He went on to say that the two companies reached the agreement on setting up a joint working group for boosting technical and training cooperation.

“Cooperation with the international as well as neighboring countries’ companies has been included in the Outlook Plan of the NIDC,” the official noted.

On NIDC’s training drilling workforce, Golpayegani said, “One of the major privileges of the NIDC is its skill in training the needed workforce so that not only all the professional forces of the company have passed training courses being held by the company but the company has trained applicants from private sector companies of other countries, including those from Bolivia.

“It was agreed that a number of Iraq’s drilling sector experts come to Iran to take part in NIDC’s training courses in engineering and technical services specially in diversion drilling,” he noted.

Referring to the NIDC as a well-known international company, the official said, “The NIDC has been founded on strong engineering and technical knowhow and the company with more than three decades of experience has demonstrated its capabilities in drilling highly sophisticated oil and gas reservoirs across the country.”

“The company is in charge of 74 onshore and offshore drilling rigs across the country to address the oil industry needs in the sector,” the official concluded.
