The Zionist regime is incapable of attacking Iran and is too little to threaten Iran, Army Commander Major General Ataollah Salehi said on Thursday, responding to boasts by the Zionist entity that its military that could attack its archfoe on its own.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the ceremony commemorating Army Day, he said that currently the army is fully prepared to counter any adventure by the enemies by an overwhelming counterattack.

“Our message to this illegitimate regime (Israel) is the same, we do not need to utilize all of Iran’s military forces,” Salehi said. “The army … alone is able to destroy Israel.”

His comments come after Israeli chief of staff Lieutenant General Benny Gantz on Tuesday said the occupying regime was capable of attacking Iran on its own without foreign support.

During Thursday’s military parade, Tehran displayed three newly-developed unmanned aerial vehicles, or drones. “The Sarir (throne) drone is a stealth, with a long range flight capability and is equipped with a cameras and air-to-air missiles,” air defense commander Brigadier General Farzad Esmaili said as the aircraft went on display along with two other new drones, the Hazem-3 (firm) and Mohajer-B (immigrant).

For his part, Iran’s Defense Minister Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi downplayed the Israeli regime’s military threats against the country, saying Iran will respond to any misdeed by the Tel Aviv regime in the shortest possible time .

As reiterated by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, Iran has great military capabilities, Vahidi told reporters on Thursday on the sidelines of the ceremony.

“The constant threats by the Zionist regime (Israel) against Iran are so worthless and they cannot do anything against our nation because they know that any measure will lead them to full annihilation,” the Iranian minister pointed out.

“We don’t think that the Zionist regime will take such an unwise action to commit suicide,” Vahidi added.
