Iran keen to expand cultural ties with Azerbaijan

Visiting head of Iran’s Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO) here on Wednesday called for expansion of ties with Azerbaijan.

Referring to the two sides’ cultural, historical and religious commonalities, Mehdi Mostafavi stressed that the ground should be prepared for further expansion of cultural cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Mostafavi, heading a delegation, arrived in Baku on October 26.

According to the Islamic republic news agency, he will inaugurate Iran’s cultural week in Baku and meet some top Azeri officials during his four-day visit.

The ICRO head is going to inaugurate The Imam Reza /AS/ (the eighth imam of Prophet Muhammad’s /pbuh/ Infallible Household) Cultural Festival, Imam Reza /AS/ Photo Exhibition, Iran’s short film festival and unveil the Imam Reza /AS/ book in the Azeri language during his stay in Azerbaijan.
