‘Iran key to regional decision making’

Iran’s initiative to hold an international conference on Palestine amid the ongoing global developments is reflective of the fact that the Islamic Republic remains the focal point of regional decision makings, an Iranian lawmaker insists.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran is the pivot of decision making … in regional developments,” said Mohammad Karami-Rad, a member of Iran’s Majlis (parliament) Committee on National Security and Foreign Policy, on Saturday, Mehr news agency reported.

Karami-Rad was referring to the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada that started on Saturday in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

The two-day conference focuses on the restoration of Palestinians’ rights, including their right to return to their land, determine their fate as well as the liberation of the territories occupied by Zionist Israel.

Karami Rad made a reference to the inauguration speech by The Leader of Islamic Ummah and Oppressed People Imam Sayyed Ali Khamenei, and praised the Supreme Leader’s speech that provided a practical solution to the Palestinian issue, revealed the real nature of Zionist Israel and its supporters and underlined the role of the Muslim world in regional developments.

During his speech at the opening ceremony of the conference in Tehran, the Leader said that a solution suggesting the existence of a Palestinian state along with an Zionist Israeli one amounted to the violation of Palestinians’ rights, adding that any plan needed to be based on the principle of “All of Palestine for all Palestinians.”

Representatives, parliament speakers and scholars from different countries as well as a number of Palestinian leaders are attending the 5th International Conference on Palestinian Intifada in Tehran.
