Iran launches first Digital Library


Iran’s Center for Media Studies affiliated to the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance has launched its first digital library during a ceremony at the center.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Mohammad Hosseini and other officials on Tuesday, Mehr News Agency reported.

“The establishment of the library is an honorable movement and it has a significant role in improving the quality of press and media,” Hosseini stated at the ceremony.

He stressed that the links between the center’s digital libraries with other academic centers can promote educational achievements.

“The library is programmed to share its resources with other academic centers and universities when they become a member of the center’s digital library system,” said the head project Shirin Aladini.

She added that the library contains over 800 Persian books, 3,475 books in foreign languages, 19 thousand Persian articles, over seven thousand foreign languages articles and over 760 dissertations Persian and other languages.
