Iran launches two combined cycle plants

Iran inaugurated two combined cycle power plants with the production capacity of 648 megawatts with the presence of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the central Iranian province of Semnan.

According to Press TV, Mohammad Reza Qalambor, the projects’ manager, said Shahid Bastami power plant in the city of Shahrood and Quds power plant in the city of Semnan inaugurated on Tuesday.
Qalambor noted that the project comprises four 162-megawatt units, adding that nearly 19 million dollars have been invested in each of the plants.
In December, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad inaugurated the second phase of the largest combined cycle power plant in the Middle East in the northern Iranian city of Pakdasht.
Six steam units of Shohada-ye Pakdasht (Pakdasht Martyrs) plant, built with an investment of over two billion euros, were inaugurated by the Iranian president.
All the equipment of the Pakdasht plant’s steam units including turbines, generators and boilers have been made by Iranian experts, and the plant has 12 gas and six steam units.
Meanwhile, President Ahmadinejad inaugurated a 160-bed hospital in the city of Damghan, in the central-northern Iranian province of Semnan.
The Velayat hospital has cost over rials 70 billion.
