Iran Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani arrives in Minsk

Majlis Speaker Ali Larijani heading a parliamentary delegation arrived in Minsk, Belarus on Wednesday afternoon.

Larijani is scheduled to meet senior Belarusian officials to exchange views on expansion of relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Upon his arrival, the Iranian delegation was welcomed by Belarusian parliamentary officials as well as Iran’s ambassador in Minsk.

According to IRNA, during his one-day visit, Larijani is to confer with the country’s president, prime minister and parliament speaker on issues of mutual interests along with regional and international developments.

Prior to leaving Tehran for Minsk, Larijani underlined that Iran and Belarus have good potentials for further expansion of cooperation.

Belarus is regarded as Iran’s friend and business partner in many fields and existing ties between the two sides parliaments are at a satisfactory level, he said.

Larijanis visit is taking place upon official invitation extended by his Belarusian counterpart.

Iran and Belarus have adopted close stands on regional developments, he said adding that the current visit would help broaden and deepen relations between the two countries.
