Iran marks National Army Day

Iran’s Army units have staged nationwide parades to mark the country’s National Army Day and Ground Force Day.

The Ground force, Air Force and Naval Force displayed their latest defensive capabilities and preparation through the parades.

Iranian authorities, president Rouhani, military top commanders as well as army forces officers and personnel attend the Army Day ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony in Tehran, president Rouhani said that “Iran’s Army showed its dignity to the whole world in the sacred defense – Iraqi imposed war upon Iran – and today is self-sufficient owning modern technologies.”

He maintained that “National Army Day naming by Imam Khomeini was when some minor groups planned to disintegrate the army during the beginning years of the Islamic Revolution but their plot failed.”

Rouhani added that the army played a vital role during the sacred defense and took firm stand against the foreign invasion beside the other military forces.

He held that today, diplomatic and political forces fight to defend the country’s interests in political, international fields with logical negotiations and they rely on public votes, Leader’s guidance and Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army power.
