Iran: Middle-East More Secure Place without US

Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said that not only his country but also many other states in West Asia have come to the conclusion that the Middle-East is a more secure place without the US.

“The US rulers’ bitter admission of realities which entail lessons have forced many West Asian countries, even the group which had for years paved the ground or hosted the US deployment in the region to admit this reality that the Middle-East without the US is a more secure place,” Shamkhani wrote in a memo on Monday.

He referred to the recent incidents in the region, including Ansarullah of Yemen’s drone attacks on Saudi oil facilities and the US rejection of Riyadh’s demand for reaction, the US repeated political and military failures in the region and admission of the fact that spending $8trln for the US military deployment in the region has yielded no results and the US turning its back to Kurdish allies after Turkey’s incursion into Syria, and said that it seems the US ruling system has come to the conclusion that the power equation in the world, specially the Middle-East, has changed and the US can no more continue its absolute ruling over the international system’s affairs.

Shamkhani underlined that the US has understood this reality that it has two ways; either it should bear abundant costs and have a hollow shape of a superpower or accept the today world’s reality and set itself free of the large expenses of this known theater.

In relevant remarks in July, Top Military Aide to the Iranian Supreme Leader Major General Yahya Rahim Safavi underlined that given the increasing power of Iran, the American forces should leave the region.

With Iran gaining power, ranging from the Pacific Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, the US forces have to leave Persian Gulf region, General Safavi said in Tehran.

The power of Islamic Iran is on the verge of growth day by day in international arena, he said, adding, “On the contrary, power of the United States and Zionist regime is decreasing significantly.”

General Safavi once again reiterated that the noble nation of Islamic Iran and the Islamic Revolution are gaining more power, ranging from Pacific Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea.

Under such circumstances, the American forces have to leave the region following Iran’s undisputed power in international arena, he said.
