Iran military might serves ME peace and stability

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast says Iran’s military power will serve the Middle East peace and stability, stressing Tehran will not let any country conduct slightest move against it.

“The more capability an independent country develops to defend itself, the more effective role it can play in establishing peace, stability and security in the region,” Mehmanparast told reporters on Tuesday.

“If all regional countries enjoy full defense capabilities, the Zionist regime (Israel) will never let itself carry out an act of aggression or occupation,” he added.

The Iranian spokesperson pointed to the country’s military drills — the Great Prophet 6 — currently underway in the country and said, “We will not allow anyone to have covetous eyes on our territory and interests.”

“We are happy that Western states have concerns because when they are not worried, it means that they are pursuing their own interests in the region without any trouble,” Mehmanparast went on to say.

On the second day of the Great Prophet 6 military drills on Tuesday, Iran successfully launched 14 surface-to-surface missiles, including Zelzal, Shahab-1, Shahab-2 and Shahab-3.

Five Shahab missiles, including four medium-range and one long-range, as well as 9 Zelzal missiles were launched.

On the first day of the exercises on Monday, Iran unveiled underground missile silos and fired Fateh-110 missile as part of the swift reaction units of Iran’s missile forces.

Iran says the Great Prophet 6 maneuver has completely defensive objectives and will be staged with the message of “peace and friendship.”
