Iran negotiating with three regional countries for preferential trade: Official

 

Iran is in negotiations with Turkey, Syria and Pakistan for preferential trade, according to the caretaker of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran.

Speaking during a conference on expansion of ITC exports in Tehran on Wednesday, Mohammadreza Modoudi said that some infrastructure, like establishment of banking relations is top on Iran’s agenda without which preferential tariffs and preferential trade are of no value.

Modoudi said that the Turkish president has promised to help remove the existing obstacles on the way of relations with Tehran.

Barter trade is one of the plans of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran in negotiations with other countries, the neighbors in particular, the official said.

Referring to 13 percent growth in Iran’s non-oil exports in the first eight months of the country’s current calendar year, Modoudi said that Tehran will do every effort to Keep the growth by the yearend.
